Backyard Poultry Management for SHGs

This course provides practical guidance on backyard poultry management at household level. It covers chick selection, housing, feeding, vaccination, disease identification, seasonal care, and market linkage.

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

• Select healthy chicks with proper weight and size

• Maintain poultry sheds and cages properly

• Provide correct feeding and vaccination at household level

• Identify common poultry diseases early

• Manage poultry during extreme weather conditions

• Understand linkages for strengthening backyard poultry enterprise

This course strengthens Cluster Level Federations (CLFs) to promote poultry-based income generation at village level.
